Review Process

IJRDO - Journal of Agriculture and Research is a peer-reviewed journal that has a systematic peer review procedure whereby all work published within it must be of acceptable academic quality. The handling of the process is done with care in order to sustain quality, fairness, and clarity throughout the process.

Initial Screening

Once the manuscript has been submitted, it is first checked by the editorial team. This is to be done to ensure that the paper is appropriate to be reviewed further. At this point, the paper is scanned against:

  • Adequacy to the topic of the journal.
  • Simple form and simplicity.
  • Wholeness of the submission.
  • Novelty of the information.

The manuscript can be sent back to the author to be corrected in case of necessity and then proceed.

Reviewer Assignment

Papers that survive the first screening are forwarded to reviewers who have knowledge of the subject matter. The choice of the reviewers depends on the experience in the particular field of the work that is submitted. The review is conducted in a confidential way to make sure it is an unbiased review.

Evaluation Process

The manuscript is evaluated by the reviewers, who give comments on:

  • Relevance and quality of the research.
  • The research procedures.
  • Presentation and accuracy of results.
  • Coherence of writing and structure.
  • Generally speaking, the contribution to the field.

Their comments are used to inform the editorial decision.

Editorial Decision

The editorial team decides on the manuscript based on the reviewer comments. The potential consequences are:

  • Acceptance
  • Minor revisions required
  • Major revisions required
  • Rejection

Authors are provided with a decision and definite feedback.

Revision Stage

In case of revision requests, authors will be asked to carefully revise the manuscript. All the comments of the reviewers must be dealt with prior to resubmission. In other instances, the revised manuscript can be resubmitted to the reviewers, who may then re-review it.

Final Decision and Publication

After being up to the expected standards, the manuscript is accepted for publication. The last version is then made ready and is set to be released.

Confidentiality and Fairness

Any manuscripts are considered confidential documents. The journal makes sure that the review is just and solely based on the quality of the work. The identity of the reviewers is also dealt with with a lot of care to ensure that their identity is not biased.

Review Time

The time taken in the review can be different, based on the area under revision and the procedure of revision. The journal will focus on fulfilling every stage in a decent time frame.
